The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), established in 1863, works worldwide to provide humanitarian help for people affected by conflict and armed violence and to promote the laws that protect victims of war. An independent and neutral organization, its mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. Based in Geneva, Switzerland, it employs some 12,000 people in 80 countries; it is financed mainly by voluntary donations from governments and from national Red Cross and Red Crescent societies. The ICRC Dhaka delegation is looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and motivated person for the following position:

Position : Dispatcher
Department : Logistics
Location : Cox’s Bazar
Starting date : As soon as possible
The Dispatcher will be working under the direct supervision and guidance of the Logistics responsible.

2. Responsibilities
Independently works to ensure that the fleet is used in a rational manner
Organizes and plans drivers’ duties and assignments; dispatches the assigned vehicles
Monitors and records vehicle use and fuel consumption
Keeps tracks of all vehicle movements using Humanav or similar tools
Where necessary, checks that field-trip forms are filed and correspond to the assigned mission and that log books are filled out
Coaches and trains drivers
Analyses and mitigates risks in dangerous locations
Takes all necessary steps to implement the delegation’s security rules
3. Professional Requirements:
Driving license for at least 5 years
Proven leadership capacity with team management skills
Four years’ work experience in a similar position
Good knowledge of the area of assignment
Secondary school or technical/professional school diploma
Good command (spoken and written) of English, Bangla and Chittagonian
Good computer skills
Masters 4×4 driving and VHF/HF use
Basic mechanical skills
